Senior Software Architect with experience from Medtech

Define and maintain the software architecture used in workstations, both existing and new devices.
In cooperation with the Software Engineering team, you improve the processes within the team and define “best practices”. You will also work on larger projects in a project group, from definition of a new product to market entry.

Key Activities
• Define and lead the development of the software architecture both for new and existing platforms and products.
• Work closely with our HW Architect for defining and maintaining the overall system architecture.
• Look for ways of optimizing the performance of the Software group from a technical side and how to further develop the competences within the team.
• Derive and document software requirements based upon System and Product Specifications and analyze requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
• Investigate new technologies within software engineering.
• Work with marketing on implementation alternatives and tradeoffs as they relate to the product specifications.
• Work in a multi-disciplined engineering team to define interfaces between hardware and software.
• Participate in Verification activities including code reviews, unit testing, integration testing and documentation reviews.
• Follow applicable Quality System procedures for all software development activities..
• Work independently on assigned tasks.
• Participate in product risk analysis activities.
Success criteria
• Software design finalized according to specs, within given budget and time
• Software design with excellent reliability, usability and performance
• Software design in-line with relevant standards and regulations

Key competencies
Minimum requirements for the position

Education: Degree in engineering/science discipline

Practical experience :
• +10 years of experience in embedded software development/engineering
• Experience with development of platforms and frameworks
• Object Oriented analysis and design, and the formal SW lifecycle
• Broad experience with SW tools – version control, build server, code review, design doc. etc.
• Experience with how to document a software design (operational doc., interface specs., design specs.)
• Medical Device experience incl. IEC62304 or CFR21 is a plus
• Documentation in English
